Max Schreiber was a Canton Avenue saloon owner who lived in Toledo, Ohio from 1903 to 1913, before moving to Detroit. This black and white portrait was taken by well-know photographer Lester E. Nichoson during this time period. Toledo-area Jews ran a wide variety of businesses and engaged in a wide variety of professions.
